  2. Add these vocabulary to your SNB glossary • diffusion - movement of molecules from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration. • osmosis - diffusion of water through a membrane.

Molecules move CONSTANTLY • Diffusion is the movement of molecules from crowded areas to less crowded areas • *Particles diffuse in liquid and gases. • Example: spraying perfume • Equilibrium is when the molecules are spread evenly in a space • *Molecules continue to move and equilibrium is maintained

  4. Osmosis is the diffusionof water through a membrane. • Water molecules move from where there are lotsto where there are little • When this transfer of water in and out of the cell is moving at the same rate you have Equilibrium
