High-Level Functional Requirements • The DR solution shall manage demand resources.  •  The DR solution shall manage supply resources. •  The DR solution shall manage resources which combine characteristics of supply and demand resources.  Resources which combine characteristics of both supply and demand include devices which supply or use electricity such as pumped storage hydroelectricity, PEV batteries, compressed air systems, and new systems not yet developed.

  4. Functional Requirements (cont.) • The DR solution shall communicate with organizations that manage the grid. Organizations which manage the grid include ISOs, RTOs, corporations such as TVA, and others. •  The DR solution shall provide for participation of independent third party electrical distributors. •  The DR solution shall provide an international deployable system meeting IEC 61968 standards.
