Over $1.6 Million committed to unauthorized dump remediation projects since program inception in June 2009

Scrap Tire Fund Large Site Cleanup

Removal activities in Prichard completed (August 2009 – March 2010)

~13,500 tons of scrap tires and tire materials removed

Equivalent to more than 1.3 million passenger tire equivalents

$798,039.90 paid for clean-up

Over 60% of scrap tires beneficially reused

Remediation activities in Samson, Geneva County to commence soon (Approx. 1,000,000 Tires)

Scrap Tire Fund Small Site Cleanup (FY2010)

17 sites completed—approximately 40,000 scrap tires disposed

9 sites in progress

$238,100 for cleanup of the 17 sites
