  6. Aerospace Engineering The Boeing Company is an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and sells airplanes, rotorcraft, rockets, satellites, and missiles worldwide. The company also provides leasing and product support services. Boeing is among the largest global aircraft manufacturers. Airbus SE is a European corporation, registered in the Netherlands and trading shares in France, Germany and Spain. It designs, manufactures and sells civil and military aeronautical products worldwide and manufactures in multiple countries both inside and outside of the European Union.

  7. Automotive Engineering McLaren Automotive is a British automotive manufacturer based at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey. The main products of the company are sports cars, usually produced in-house at designated production facilities. Ford Motor Company is an American multinational automaker headquartered in Detroit USA. It was founded by Henry Ford in 1903. The company sells automobiles and commercial vehicles under the Ford and other brands around the world. It has an 8% stake in Aston Martin of the United Kingdom, and a 49% stake in Jiangling Motors of China.

  8. Communications Engineering BT Group plc is a British multinational telecommunications holding company with head offices in London, United Kingdom. It has operations in around 200 countries and is the largest provider of fixed-line, mobile and broadband services in the UK, and also provides subscription television and IT services. Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California, that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. The company's hardware products include the iPhone smartphone, the iPad tablet computer, the Mac personal computer, the iPod portable media player, and the Apple Watch smartwatch.

  9. Electrical Engineering General Electric Company (GE) is an American multinational conglomerate incorporated in New York and headquartered in Boston. As of 2018, the company operates through the following segments: aviation, healthcare, power, renewable energy, digital, additive manufacturing, venture capital and finance, lighting, transportation, and oil and gas. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. is a South Korean multinational electronics company headquartered in Suwon, South Korea. Samsung Electronics has assembly plants and sales networks in 80 countries and employs around 308,745 people. It is the world's largest information technology company, consumer electronics maker and chipmaker by revenue.

  10. Mechanical Engineering Rolls-Royce is a business established in 1904 which today designs, manufactures and distributes power systems for aviation and other industries. Rolls-Royce is the world’s second-largest maker of aircraft engines and also has major businesses in the marine propulsion and energy sectors. GKN plc is a British multinational automotive and aerospace components company headquartered in Redditch, Worcestershire. The company was formerly known as Guest, Keen and Nettlefolds and can trace its origins to 1759 and the birth of the Industrial Revolution.

  11. Environmental Engineering SSE plc is a Scottish energy company headquartered in Perth, Scotland, United Kingdom. SSE operates in United Kingdom and Ireland. It is involved in the generation and supply of electricity and gas, the operation of gas and telecoms networks and other energy related services such as gas storage, exploration and production, contracting, connections and metering. Acciona Energy, a subsidiary of Acciona based in Madrid, is a Spanish company developing renewable energy projects, including small hydro, biomass, solar energy and thermal energy, and the marketing of biofuels. It also has assets in the field of co-generation and wind turbine manufacture.

  12. Transport Engineering WS Atkins is a British multinational engineering, design, planning, architectural design, project management and consulting services company headquartered in London, UK. In 2016, Atkins was the UK's largest engineering consultancy and the world's 11th largest global design firm. Arup is a multinational professional services firm headquartered in London which provides engineering, design, planning, project management and consulting services for all aspects of the built environment. Founded by Sir Ove Arup in 1946, the firm has over 13,000 staff based in 92 offices across 35 countries, and has participated in projects in over 160 countries.

Rail Engineering Transport for London has responsibility for London's network of principal road routes, for various rail networks including the London Underground, London Overground, Docklands Light Railway and TfL Rail. Network Rail is the owner and infrastructure manager of most of the rail network in Great Britain. Network Rail is an arms length public body of the Department for Transport with no shareholders, which reinvests its income in the railways.

  14. Marine Engineering Cummins Inc. is an American corporation that designs, manufactures, and distributes engines, filtration, and power generation products. Cummins also services engines and related equipment, including fuel systems, controls, air handling, filtration, emission control and electrical power generation systems. BAE Systems plc is a British multinational defence, security, and aerospace company. Its headquarters are in London in the United Kingdom and it has operations worldwide. It is among the world's largest defence companies; it was ranked as the third-largest in 2015 revenues.

  15. Some others… Dyson Ltd is a British technology company established by James Dyson in 1991. It designs and manufactures household appliances such as vacuum cleaners, hand dryers, bladeless fans, heaters and hair dryers. As of February 2017, Dyson had more than 8,500 employees worldwide. Tesla, Inc. (formerly Tesla Motors), founded in 2003, is an American multinational corporation based in Palo Alto, California, that specializes in electric vehicles, lithium-ion battery energy storage and solar panel manufacturing. As of June 2018, Tesla sells the Tesla Model S, Model X, Model 3, Powerwall and Powerpack batteries, solar panels, solar roof tiles, and related products.
