  3. Started in 1995 as a program of the National Science Foundation (NSF) – NSDL aim is to establish “a national digital library that would constitute an online network of learning environments for improving teaching and learning for STEM education at all levels.”

  4. NSDL currently sponsors and coordinates the development of over100 different Digital Libraries and initiatives.

  5. The goal of NSDL is to create a single “super” digital library that will provide researchers in science, technology and mathematics with a straight-forward method for locating resources.http://nsdl.org/

  6. eERL – Environmental Education Resource Library

  7. Originally named ATEEL Advanced Technology Education Libraryhttp://ateel.ateec.org/The eERL/ATEEL digital library first debuted in 1999.

  8. ATEEL/eERL seeks to develop a digital library that will “serve the environmental information needs of a diverse and rapidly growing audience of environmental technology students, educators, and technicians, as well as students, instructors, and technicians in other fields that require knowledge of environmental topics.”

  9. eERL will offer free online resources from twelve different environmental content clusters such as:Air Quality Waste Management Energy Natural Resources Management Instrumentation Pollution Prevention Sustainability Materials Science

  10. eERL will also provide… Career information in the field of Environmental TechnologyRegulatory information for Environmental TechnologyUpcoming events, conferences and news forEnvironmental Technology

  12. eERL will be created through the collaborative efforts of … ATEEC – the Advanced Technology Environmental Education Center

  15. … and with help from PETE – the Partnership for Environmental Technology Education

  16. … and with help from LfEE: The Laboratory for Energy and the Environment Massachusetts Institute of Technology
