  3. Purpose: Determine whether a quantitative correlation exists between the number of kids in a household and the number of pets in the same household.

  4. The Survey • Utilizing online tools, I created a survey with only two questions: • How many children age 17 or younger live in your household? • How many pets currently live in your household?

  5. Mean & Mode The mean for the kid sample was: 1.55 Mode was: 2

  6. Mean & Mode The mean for the pet sample was: 2.58 Mode was: 2

  7. Scatterplot To Show Correlation • What does it all mean? • Correlation Coefficient was only 0.18 • The Critical Value for this sample was 0.361 • Comparing those two values concludes there was no significant linear correlation

  8. Conclusion • Buy your kids more pets.
