  3. Limits to Common Stocks You are given voting rights when investing in common stocks. The amount of ownership you have over the stock depicts the amount of voting rights you have over the stock.

  4. Making Money $$$ As an owner of a common stock, you have a claim on some of the profits that are generated by the company. Common stocks work best in an uprising economy. The better the economy, the higher the price per share. In most cases, small investors are the ones who invest in common stocks.

  5. Investing in Common Stocks Apple and Walmart are two examples of companies where you can purchase common stocks. The amount of money you invest in a stock depends on the price per stock and how many shares you want to buy.

  6. Risks Investing in common stocks means that you could either lose are make money. Prices could dramatically fall which is a huge risk on your part.
