Chivalry: What is it??? • The ideal code of conduct expected of a knight.
Characteristics: • Thou shalt believe in the Church and all of its teachings. • Though shalt defend the Church. • Thou shalt not recoil before thine enemy. • Though shalt make war against the infidel without mercy.
Thou shat never lie and shalt remain faithful to thy pledged word • Though shalt be generous, and give largeness to everyone • Thou shalt be everywhere and always the champion of the Right and the Good against injustice and evil.
Duties of a knight: • To fear God and maintain His Church. • To serve the liege lord in valour and faith. • To protect the weak and defenseless. • To give succour to widows and orphans. • To live by honor and glory.
To fight for the welfare of all. • To obey those placed in authority. • To guard the honor of fellow knights. • To always speak the truth. • To respect the honor of women. • Never to refuse a challenge from an equal. • Never to turn the back upon a foe.
