  1. Brown Dog “Helping Men, Women & Children across the UK who have cancer” (registered Charity 1111550) Invite you to join one of our 2011 Charity Challenges (The Triassic or Portland Challenges) to raise money to support our 2011 Breast Cancer Appeal

  2. Introduction • Over the last 10 years brown dog have raised almost a quarter of a million pounds which has been used to help men, women and children across the UK who have cancer. • Our 2010 ‘Skin Cancer Appeal’ was our most successful yet, where £70,000 was pledged by the 90 people who took part in our two challenges up in the Lake District. • Today we are delighted to announce our 2011 ‘Breast Cancer Appeal’ and the two challenges we have planned on 3rd/4th June to raise money to support this • This pack should provide you with sufficient information to enable you to decide whether to join our 2011 team - we hope you do! • We set no individual fund raising targets – we just ask you to do the very best you can to raise as much as you can (our only registration rule is that you must be 18 to take part) • Remember this year, the quicker you pay – the cheaper it will be!

  3. 2011 Challenge What does it offer; • It is demanding – people will recognise this and sponsor you! • It is by the coast – providing both a challenge and an active holiday beak! • It will provide a unique ‘starlight’ experience to many of you • You will stay in unique accommodation - never done before on a challenge • By paying early you can experience the cheapest challenge we have ever organised

  4. The Triassic Challenge The challenge is to walk 50 miles from Sidmouth to Weymouth (South Devon/Dorset) along the beautiful South West Coastal path. Starting at 1 p.m on Friday 3rd June walking through the night and finishing at 12 Noon Saturday morning (4th June)

  8. Accommodation Because (on Triassic) we will be walking through the night we need accommodation that will enable us to go to bed on Saturday morning to catch up on sleep before the dogs dinner in the evening. Hotels and B&B’s don’t provide access until 2pm, so we have come up will a unique brown dog alternative - this year we will be staying in caravans! We have negotiated a fantastic deal with Haven Holidays in Weymouth. We have booked 15 Superior 3 bedroom caravans that can accommodate up to 8 people. The deal includes 3 nights accommodation (Fri/Sat/Sun) This means your caravan is waiting for you on Saturday morning to get your well earned sleep prior to the celebration “dogs dinner” on Saturday night. On the Sunday morning, after a great night out you can have a lie-in until whatever time you wish. You can even stay until Monday if you wish to maximise the weekend (this is a 3 night deal!) The deal includes bed linen, an entertainment pass and use of all the facilities at the site, including the swimming pool. Caravan prices have been factored into the 2011 Registration Fee options – shown later. If you can join together with family or friends to fill the caravans you will get the cheapest price.

  9. 2011 Challenge – Payment Whilst Brown Dog have negotiated a great deal with Haven holidays, in return we have to pay 50% of the balance by the 1st November – which means we need to get registration money in quickly.
