  4. longitude • Longitude – measurement of distance east and west of the prime meridian. • Meridians • 0 ⁰ Prime Meridian • Greenwich, England • 180 ⁰ International Date Line • Eastern hemisphere – east of 0 ⁰ • Western hemisphere – west of 0 ⁰

  5. Time zones • Time zones are drawn along meridians. • Every 15⁰ longitude = 1 hour in time
