The objective is to have the port operative • in 2017 • that is the minimum technical timewith the following milestones • October - 2012 start of the construction of the “staging pier” (East • breakwater) • April - 2013 start of the construction of the West breakwater • July - 2013 start of the construction of the most complex works • (dredging, dredged material desiccation and treatment, • port embankments and quays) • January - 2016 start of port buildings, roads and utilities • May - 2015 start of the concessionaires works (container terminals • buildings and equipment ,dry bulk terminals building • and equipment, rail terminal marshaling yards building • and equipment.
