Question Use the components provided with the assignment to assemble the instruments best suited to the analysis of the following samples: • Fluorescently stained cells • A thin polymer sheet • An acidic sample for trace analysis of Cd • An acidic sample for testing for As, Pb, and Sn • An archaeological sample for elemental analysis Each component provided should be used only once. There are no extra components. Cut each component out and paste them together in the proper arrangement to build each instrument. Arrows should be used to trace the path of light between components. Lines should also be drawn for tubing or gas line connections. This question can be done using PowerPoint, graphics software, or scissors and glue/tape. Marks will be given for neatness.

Question Use the components provided with the assignment to assemble the following instruments: • Laser ablation-ICP-double focusing MS • Electrospray-quadrupole-ToF tandem MS • GC-ion trap MS • HPLC Each component provided should be used only once. There are no extra components. Cut each component out and paste them together in the proper arrangement to build each instrument. Lines should be drawn for tubing or gas line connections. This question can be done using PowerPoint, graphics software, or scissors and glue/tape. Marks will be given for neatness.
