  10. Past programs include Annual sponsoring of the “Day of Silence” Participation in “National Coming Out Week” “T-Party,” social & educational event designed to explore transgender issues

Pride committee • Action-based task force consisting of staff, faculty, and students • The Pride Committee’s main objectives are to: • Increase discourse, visibility, and programming for LGBTQ issues throughout the Wheelock community. • Broaden the definition of diversity within existing campus initiatives or major programs. • Create opportunities to share information about the LGBTQ and Ally experience that will address knowledge gaps and contribute to a more inclusive campus community.

Pride committee continued Past Programs & Initiatives include: My Love’s Not for Sale: An open discussion stemming from the exclusion in greeting cards, and other issues surrounding relationships and families during holidays. Review of Institutional Policy & Procedure: bettering the experience of LGBTQ students & employees Safe Space Training: Increase your knowledge of issues faced by LGBTQ individuals and improve your skills for supporting students and other individuals who may from time to time need a Safe Space on campus. Families in Focus: A photo-visibility project featuring Wheelock families. Brown Bag Lunch Series: A conversation series covering current events.
