    1. Salvador Ruiz and Emilio Barbosa Grade 4

    2. Location The mission’s location is 775 Mission Street, San Miguel. It is the second mission in the land known as Salinas.

    3. Founding Father Fermin de Lasuen founded the mission on July 25, 1797. The church was built that same year.

    4. Interesting Facts The Salinan Indian men also worked in in the mission’s workshop to perfect skills in blacksmithing, carpentry, tanning , and making tiles and adobe.

    5. Problems In 1806 the Mission had a serious fire and destroyed part of San Miguel. Since the earthquake of 2003, they have been restoring the Mission.

    6. DAILY LIFE Some jobs at the Mission were carpenters, soap makers, blacksmith, weavers, farmers. The Indians and Salinas people lived at the mission.

    7. The Mission Today Shortly after 11:00 A.M. on December 22, 2003 the Central California Coast was shaken a 6.5 earthquake. It is being restored since the earthquake had happen.

    8. Visitation Many people go to the mission today to see the interesting church in the mission and the tools that they used in the Mission.
