  2. It’s estimated that £40 billion is spent each year on diet plans and with over half of the UK population overweight, this is set to rise. But are all diet plans worthwhile? We are going to evaluate the different plans. • There are many different types of diet available... • fixed menu diet (you only have a few choices of food) • exchange type diet (some choices of food, good for teaching about food selection) • Pre-packaged diet (buy meals with the right food measured out) • Formula (replace food with liquid formula) • Questionable (eat a certain food only) • Flexible (monitoring fat or calories only)
