  1. Literacy–We will continue to read other Kevin Henkes books. We will talk about the story elements of Chrysanthemum this week and also read Wemberly Worried and look at illiteration. In writers’ workshop we are starting our final drafts of our All About Me books. On Tuesday we will begin a phonics unit on “ing” and “ed” suffixes. Math Workshop –This week we will continue learn about 2-digit addition. We will do a domino two-digit addition game and then focus on how to use a hundreds chart to solve 2-digit addition and subtraction problems. We will then move into solving 2-digit subtraction problems. • Science/ Social Studies -Last week we looked inside a bean pod and discovered bean seeds inside. It was very cute to hear what they predicted would be inside (baby beans, bean plants, and peas were some of their predictions). This week we will plant our own seeds. Weekly Update Happenings: Tuesday – wear sneakers for gym • Sharing–We will share an entry from our Flat Stanley journals.
