  2. History of Soccer • Originated in Britain • Been around since Middle ages • Didn’t become well organized till 1800’s • Sheffield FC is the world’s oldest soccer club

  3. How to play soccer • Played between two teams • With eleven players each • Players can move the ball with any body part • except their hands and arms • The object is to score in the opposing team’s net

  4. Positions of soccer • There are many ways to set up • We played: • 2 Forwards • 4 Midfields • 4 Defense • 1 Goalie

  7. Brazil Soccer • One of worlds best teams • Won 5 Fifa men’s world championship • More than any other country • Know for their unique technique

  8. My personal soccer career • Started playing at age eight • Played travel soccer for six years • Played varsity for four years • Coached a U6 team for two years • Play on a coed intramural team in college

  9. My favorite part of soccer • Traveling with the team • Staying overnight at hotels together • Traveling to away games on buses • Allowed us to get to know one another

  10. Achievements • Academic all state • 5 Tournament 1st places in Travel soccer • 2 District Championships • 3 Conference Championships • Won vaious individual awards voted on by my team
