  1. Storyboard Draft 1 3/30/2011 UMD NOW Authors: Tara Fisher, Angie Nedd, Charissa Powell Undergraduate Women’s Studies Students University of Maryland, College Park

  2. Our Storyboard Our storyboard seems to be more of a relational to-do list than a storyboard, but it is helping us to refine, clarify, and focus on our interests and goals. We find that with every step of the process, we find new possibilities for our project!

  3. Forming a New Group on Campus • Find out SGA requirements to become a new student group eligible to receive funding • Find out about STARS • What are the advantages of forming a new group and how can they fulfill our project? • “UMD NOW” – chapter of NOW ?

  4. TRIOTA • Use existing network with or through TRIOTA? ( honor society for women’s studies; two members of our group are on executive council of TRIOTA) • Strengthen TRIOTA through this project? • Rework TRIOTA mission and establish a sister organization that can do programming and be a campus- and community-wide voice?

  5. Scholarship • The significance of NOW in feminism (and whose voices has it ignored, and how would we want to ensure we are more inclusive?) • History of social justice movements and role of NOW and other women’s interests groups in social justice, system changes, civil rights • How do groups connect and share information? Where are groups missing one another? • How can communication be strengthened between groups to create a stronger voice to others?

  6. Technology • How to use social media and other technology to meet goals • facebook, twitter, • Blog carnival with other related groups?
