  4. HISTORY & TRADITION Traditions are not established over days, weeks or months; they are built over years and fortified over decades. Greatness is not achieved by accident. Championships are not won by surprise; there are conditions, standards, indicators, that every championship team meets. Even the upset winners, the teams that come “from nowhere”…all share the same traits. The prime factor is that they do it TOGETHER.

FUNDRAISING OVERVIEW • Pancake Breakfast - each player is required to sell (20) tickets to the pancake breakfast March 9th • Safeco Classic - each player is required to sell (20) tickets to the May 10th Seattle Mariner vs. Oakland A’s game (you can begin selling these at any time) • Fundraising Letter - each player is required to send out (10) letters to family/friends asking to support NHS baseball • Summer Scramble Golf Tournament – August 9th – fundraiser in conjunction with football and basketball. Funds will be split between the 3 sports

  12. PANCAKE BREAKFAST • Saturday, March 9th • Co-Chairs: Reggie Moyer, Jim Ito & Brian Setijono • We need committee volunteers • Each player to sell 20 tickets @ $5 each *Sign up sheet is available tonight

  13. SAFECO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL CLASSIC Saturday, April 20th - 4:00 PM • Coordinators – Tina Baumann & Tami Reese • We must sell 1,000 tickets as a program in order to play in the 2014 High School Baseball Classic at Safeco Field • Player responsibility (required) is 20 tickets

THE SEATTLE MARINERS AND SAFECO HS CLASSIC PRESENT:The Newport Knights vs. Eastside Classic Saturday, April 20th - 4:00 PM Please support Newport Baseball by selling (20) tickets for just $10 to watch the Mariners host the Oakland A’s May 10th 7:10 P.M. Sell to family, friends or buy and donate to the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club or other organizations

SUMMER SCRAMBLE 2013 • Coordinator TBD • 3rd Annual Sports Fundraiser Golf Tournament – football/basketball/baseball • Baseball responsible for (11) foursomes and (10) sponsor a “hole” , advertising and/or raffle items Event Planners – Steve Ferris/Dave Rosen Football – Tim Creek Basketball – Jonathan Fink August 9th, 2013

SPONSOR ADVERTISING • Coordinator - TBD • Banners –looking for volunteers to help procure sponsors to be displayed on banners in the outfield • Game Day Rosters/Poster – advertising opportunity • Scoreboard – contact potential sponsors. Current sponsors good through 2016 • Game Balls – help procure sponsors for each varsity home game to offset the cost of game balls and provide advertising opportunity

PLAYER SPIRIT PACK/FAN WEAR • Coordinator – Jayme Barry & Tami Reese • There will again be options for team wear (spirit pack) and fan wear to be ordered online • Required items for each player: white baseball pants, red sleeves, Newport t-shirt, NHS hat, black baseball shoes and NHS baseball bag • Items will be added to the team store as soon as it is finalized

  19. WINTER WORKOUTS • Coordinator – Joe Guinasso • Field of Champions indoor facility • Weight training and conditioning • Players can join at any time…it’s not too late! • This is an optional program, but participation is strongly encouraged
