  1. Teeth Sensitivity Treatment – Helping you get away with the intense sensation Sensitivity means twinges in teeth due to damaged outer layer, which we call enamel or the exposed roots. Consumption of hot and cold food and beverages are prohibited. If you experience any kind of problem while brushing, flossing or even breathing cold air then you have sensitive teeth which calls for sensitivity treatment. Type of teeth sensitivity Usually, sensitivity is of two types: •Dentinal Sensitivity: Dentin is a tube like structure connecting the tooth with nerves. On exposure, these tubes react to the changes in temperature or certain food. •Pulpal Sensitivity: Pulp is present at the center of each tooth. It is a mix of blood vessels and nerves. What causes Sensitive Teeth? When the enamel present as a coating on the tooth is weakening or breaking, this symptom is surely a cause of sensitive teeth. Enamel is the hard covering over the tooth that makes the teeth hard and smooth. It protects the pulp, roots and nerves. When the enamel starts breaking down, it exposes the roots and other delicate parts inside the tooth. These nerves when exposed to air, liquids, food items and germs cause sensitivity. Here are some more causes behind this common problem: •Over brushing: Brushing too hard may damage enamel •Teeth grinding: When you tighten teeth, the enamel starts chipping and it exposes the dentin. •Age: Indeed, age is a big factor. Majority of people between age 25-30 have sensitive teeth. •Gum disease: Mostly, gum diseases form plaque, which spoils the entire structure of the teeth. •Cracked teeth: Chipped off teeth can have a huge effect on change in temperature till the root •Food intake: Avoid acidic, cold and hot beverages and food. •Tooth whitening: Using baking soda for whitening may seriously cause huge damage to your roots. Sensitivity Treatment

  2. Here are the probable treatment methods for this sensitivity. •On proper diagnosis of the actual cause of behind sensitivity and proper analysis of the damage done to enamel, the dentist finds it easier to perform the recommended treatment. •Use of toothpaste specially meant for sensitive teeth. •Using mouthwash that contains fluoride. •Using fluoride gel. •Getting treatments like crown, fillings or replacement of chipped or broken teeth. •A root canal would be affective if your dentist suggests you. Maintaining a good oral hygiene at home can cure your teeth sensitivity. Using soft bristle toothbrush twice a day, flossing and regular dental checkups will treat your sensitivity at home easily. Only if the case is severe you need to visit the dentist for proper treatment. However, tooth sensitivity is treatable and by just following, a good routine may prevent it.
