  1. ROG MAT • Group: • Bassan M., Minenkov Yu., Rocchi A., Simonetti R. – Roma2, INFN • Fafone V. , Quintieri L. – LNF • ILIAS – GW Meeting report 11-12 May 2004

  2. Task M2: Advanced materials and techniques for resonant detectors •  Some technical and test facilities at Rome 2: • - mechanical shop; • - room temperature large vacuum chamber for the low losses testing of last stage suspensions (Q, mechanical filtering) for antennas and coupling of transducers with these antennas (Q, electrical and mechanical tuning); • - low temperatures vacuum chamber for the low losses testing (Q, electrical and mechanical tuning, mechanical filtering) of small dimensions suspensions and small masses – transducers, small antennas, read-out systems.

  3.  Recent activities: • - preparation and testing (Q, electrical tuning) at room temperature of transducers of CuAl for large bar and MiniGrail spherical antennas; • - collaboration with the Leiden Group: testing of transducers of CuAl separately and on the MiniGrail antenna at room and low temperatures (Q, electrical and mechanical tuning); • - preparation and testing (Q, electrical tuning) at room and low temperatures of a new design transducer of Al5056 with two gaps. •  Future activities: • - continuation of recent activities; • - study of different designs for the spherical antenna transducers; • - study of properties of molibdenum.
