  4. Eckstein’s Mission & Vision Mission: Eckstein Middle School, a diverse community of life long learners, will ensure the academic, social, and emotional growth and success of each student. Vision:      ¨      Each student will be known, nurtured, and challenged.  Each student will be given opportunities to actively engage in achieving their full potential. The school environment will foster creative problem solving.   The school will provide an atmosphere to guide each student in becoming a healthy, confident, resilient, and responsible world citizen, prepared for high school and beyond.

Math Placement • Incoming 6th Graders will be placed in Math 6, 7, or 8 • In most cases, Math 5 to Math 6; 1 year advanced math program to Math 7; 2 year advanced program to Math 8 • District provides data from MAP and MSP to support appropriate initial placement • All students are given a diagnostic math assessment the first week of school to ensure they are placed in an appropriate math class • At this time, Eckstein offers Math 6, 7, 8, Algebra I  and Geometry
