  1. MOD_42_10v2 : Changes to the Single Ramp Up Rate and the Single Ramp Down Rate Calculation

  2. Single Ramp Rate • MSP Software uses • A single ramp rate based on time to ramp between min & max outputs • Generator Units can specify: • 5 ramp up rates over 4 ranges and 5 ramp down rates over 4 ranges. • Dwell times describe output levels at which ramping must pause. RAMP DOWN RAMP UP Output (MW) Availability Slope = Single Ramp Up Rate Slope = Single Ramp Down Rate Min Stable Generation Dwell Times Time

  5. Single Ramp up Rate The Single Ramp up Rate calculation is: = (Max(Availability) – Min(Minimum Generation))/RampUpTime The Single Ramp Down Rate calculation is: = (Max(Availability) – Min(Minimum Generation))/RampDownTime

  8. Overview of Changes in the T&SC

  9. Single Ramp up Rate – proposed changes The Single Ramp up Rate calculation is: If max(AAuh) <= MinGenTOD then (MaxGenTOD – max(min(Minimum Stable Generation), MinGenTOD))) /RampUpTime else (max(AAuh) – max(min(Minimum Stable Generation), MinGenTOD))) /RampUpTime And similarly for the Single Ramp Down Rate.
