Students have three opportunities to pass the STAAR reading test and three opportunities to pass the STAAR math test (two during the spring and one during the summer).

If a student does not pass one or both tests, the school must give the student the additional instruction after each testing opportunity, and the student must participate in that instruction.

Absent/Late Work Policy:

Make Up Work Students shall be permitted to make up assignments and tests following any absence. All students will receive credit for satisfactory makeup work after an absence, including excused and unexcused absences and absences due to suspension from school. For students at the elementary level, the district shall not impose a grade penalty for makeup work after an unexcused absence. (See District Policy EIAB Local Days

Late Percent of Grade Received by Student Example:

1Day – 20 points deducted)

2 Days – 40 points deducted

3 Days – 60 points deducted

After 3 days, a zero will be given

Cowboy Celebrations:

*We will have our Friday Celebrations EVERY OTHER Friday in the gym. At that time, we will announce our bi-weekly Firecracker. This is a student picked by the teachers for accomplishments in the classrooms, both academic and behaviorally. Parents are welcome to attend at 7:40 (please check in at the front office before coming to the gym).

*Students who have earned All A’s, A/B or Perfect Attendance will have ribbons with their report cards as well as behavioral coupons for 5 or less agenda marks. *We will host a Semester Awards Celebration at the end of each semester.

*Fifth Grade will have an additional celebration at the end of the year

during our Fifth Grade Completion Ceremony. This will be in May in which students get a Completion Certificate and other awards /acknowledgements that they earned throughout the year.

*The Fifth Grade Party (in May) will be at Schlitterbahn. This is a fun way to celebrate the end of Elementary School with our Cowboys! We will begin sending information home in April.
