Relative Dating is the process of determining whether an object or event is older or younger than other objects or events.
Scientists most commonly use relative dating for fossils and rocks.
This method does not give the age of a rock or fossil in years, it only allows scientists to find out what rock/fossil is older or younger compared to another rock/fossil.
