  1. John B. Watson By: Huma Sandhu, Sierra Rogers, and William Glenn.

  2. Who is John B. Watson • John B. Watson was a famous American Physiologist who was born on January 9, 1878. This famous physiologist is known as the Father of Behaviorism, however he has done many accomplishments towards his theory of behaviorism. He has also invented the Physiological School of Behaviorism.

  3. HE GREW UP IN SOUTH CAROLINA , AND WAS KNOWN AS A POOR STUDENT. HE ATTENDED FURMAN UNIVERSITY AND GRADUATED AFTER 5 YEARS. LATER ON HE STARTED TEACHING PHYSICOLOGY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HOPKINS IN 1908 . WHILE, HE WAS A PHYSICOLOGY TEACHER HE GAVE LECTURE ABOUT BEHAVIORISM, AND THAT’S WHERE THE RISE OF HIS ACTUAL CAREER STARTS. MORE ABOUT JOHN B. WATSON

  4. Behaviorism • John B. Watson believed that physiology could be studied only with behavior , however he claimed that physiology was not concerned with mind or with human awareness. Watson used Ivan Pavlov’s work for his experiments. Ivan Pavlov studied animals conditioning. To prove behaviorism Watson did an experiment called little Albert.

  6. Little Albert • Little Albert was the most outstanding experiment done John B. Watson to prove behaviorism. This experiment was done by Watson and a graduate Rosalie Rayner on a young child name Albert B. He was 11 months old when they Watson started his experiment on him. • First test, Albert was given a rat to play with, however Watson thought the child would be scared of it but the child started roaming around him. Albert had no fear so Watson and Rayner made some sounds and that’s when Albert started screaming.

  7. Albert didn’t finish the last tests of the experiment so Watson couldn’t get his final data about behavior, but he truly believed that he would have got accurate results if the experiment continued. Later on……………..

  8. Achievements These are some of the achievements of John B. Watson. 1915 – Served as the President of the American Psychological Association (APA) 1925 – Published Behaviorism 1957 – Received the APA’s award for contributions to psychology
