First look at final focus part of super-B factory March 16, 2006 Andrei Seryi
Config. & parameters from Pantaleo • Configuration: • Parameters: • Energy: 5GeV • Emittances(n): 4*0.02 E-6 m • IP betas: 17.6*0.08 mm • IP sizes: 2.68*0.0127 um • IP divergence: 152.4 *159.8 urad • Energy spread: 0.1%
Design of FF • Use NLC/ILC like final focus • Use L*=0.5m (also tried L*=1m) • Angular dispersion at IP is 70urad (half of the x-divergence at 0.1% energy spread) • Design can be further optimized…
Chromaticity along the ff • Some lengthening would help to decrease non-FD chromaticity
Aberration terms from Transport Tracking with Turtle (100k particles): sge=0.1% sigma_x,y = 2.6785 , 0.012899 um sigma/sigma_0 = 0.99859 , 1.0087 Remaining terms probably can be decreased further if they are important Remaining aberrations and tracking
Magnets • Assumed that most of quads have r=1cm, L=0.5m and pole tip field in the optics is no more than 5kGs • For FD: • QF1: r=1.5cm , L=0.4m, B=6.4kGs • QD0: r=1cm, L=0.5m, B= 7.4kGs
IR layout • With L*=0.5m has to use common QD0? Needs to be looked… • If the L* would be ~0.8m, one can use separate beamlines with BNL direct wind compact quads, similar as for ILC 20/14mrad IR: ILC IR layout, self-shielding QD0 proposed by Brett Parker, and production of quad test for ILC at BNL. This self shielding QT was recently successfully tested.
Summary • Optics of FF can be designed • Requirements of the ring to aberrations in FF need to be checked • IR layout need to be discussed
