  2. What is UNICEF? It is one of the largest organizations in the world named The United Nations Children’s Fund.

  3. About organization.UNICEF are active in more than 190 countries and territories through country programmes and National Committees. UNICEF upholds the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

  4. About organization.About organization.UNICEF work to assure equality for those who are discriminated against, girls and women in particular. Also work for the Millennium Development Goals and for the progress promised in the United Nations Charter. Organization strive for peace and security. UNICEF work to hold everyone accountable to the promises made for children.

  5. Main idea of organisation.UNICEF was created with this purpose in mind – to work with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path. We believe that we can, together, advance the cause of humanity.

  6. History.After World War II, European children face famine and disease. UNICEF is created in December 1946 by the United Nations to provide food, clothing and health care to them. Maurice Pate (1894-1965) was UNICEF's first executive director from January 1947 until his death in January 1965, a few months before he was to retire.

Objectives of organisation.1.to give children the best start in life2.to promote girls’ education – ensuring that they complete primary education as a minimum – because it benefits all children, both girls and boys3.to act so that all children are immunized against common childhood diseases, and are well nourished, because it is wrong for a child to suffer or die from a preventable illness

Objectives of organization.4.work to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS among young people and help children and families affected by HIV/AIDS to live their lives with dignity5.to involve everyone in creating protective environments for children and relieve suffering during emergencies, and wherever children are threatened
