  3. Curriculum Guide. If you have not yet picked up a curriculum guide, they are on the table in the back.

  4. Homework. • -Homework is given most days in math and is due the following day • -Typically, math homework should take 15-20 minutes • Time (10-15 min.) will be given in class each day to begin homework • -Homework is graded in class so students can ask questions • -Absent students can check website for homework assigned in class • -Missing work is recorded as a 0 in PowerSchool. It will also be a signature on their behavior sheet.

  5. Quizzes, Test, Grades • -Brain Checks will be given just about every week • -Students will not be given a study guide or advance notice for quizzes • -Tests are given less frequently- i.e. at the end of a unit • -Students will be given a study guide for tests that are worth a bonus point • -Point Breakdown • Homework/Classwork & Participation = 5 points • Bell Ringer = 10 points • Quiz- “Brain Check” = 25-45 points • Test = 100 points

  6. Misc. • -Extra Credit: Bell Ringer Graph that students complete each week • 18 points a quarter  72 points total for the year • Any other will be to the discretion of the teacher • -PowerSchool is updated several times a week • -Check Behavior Management Sheets weekly

  7. Passport. • -Students use these for various reasons: • Passes • Schedule • Password • Homework -How you can help: • Monitor usage frequently • Encourage the Life-skill of organization • Encourage High School/College readiness

  8. Homework Folder • -Purple folder given at registration • -Students place homework for the class periods in this folder. This folder would best operate with a “To Do” side and a “Completed” side • -Behavior Sheet is also stored this folder • -Brought home every night and viewed by parents every evening

  9. Math 6* • Curriculum: • Same Book • Same content, going deeper and more accelerated through material • Same amount of time given in class for homework • Grades are weighted the same More time for projects and enrichment • Student responsibility- extra time in class or at home
