You may encounter an error if you are not the administrator – see pg 26 for further details on how to determine if you are the Administrator. Internet Browser: Netacumen is ONLY compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 or lower (32-bit only) and Netscape. It will not work with Safari, Mozilla Firefox, etc. Windows OS: Netacumen is Windows based and compatible with Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

  3. Requirements: NetAcumen System Access Set-up Requirements Recommended Client System Requirements: • Windows Vista or Windows 7 Operating System • Intel Core i3(or higher) processor • 2 GB RAM • 4 GB of available disk space • Internet Connectivity via TCP/IP to connect to the NetAcumen server(s) • Microsoft Office 2007 recommended. This is commonly available on 64 bit version of the Windows Operating System. 25. Troubleshooting Tips The most common error when downloading is that the user is not the administrator of the machine. If that is the case, when you attempt to run a report, you will see something similar to below – a red X. Please see instructions on the next page (26) to determine if you are the Administrator. If you encounter this red X, please first verify that you are using 32-bit Internet Explorer (see page 27). If you are on 32-bit and receive this red x, please contact your machine administrator (most likely your HelpDesk) and ask them to follow the instructions for download. 26. Troubleshooting Tips To determine if you are the Administrator of your machine, Right click on My Computer (on your desktop) and select Manage • Select Local Users and Groups • Then select Groups • Double click on Administrators • If your user id is not listed here, you are not the Administrator of the machine GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download

  27. Troubleshooting Tips Please note that NetAcumen is not supported on the 64-bit version of the Internet Explorer. This is commonly available on 64 bit version of the Windows Operating System. To determine your operating system, please go to Help/About Us in Internet Explorer. Under Version, you will see a suffix for the 64-bit Edition. If there is no suffix, it is 32-bit. If you are on 64-bit, please install 32-bit Internet Explorer via the link below: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/ie7/ GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download

  28. Troubleshooting Tips The following error messages are indicative of either a failed download of ActiveX or corruption of the file you downloaded. In such instances, recovery requires reinstallation. Begin by removing the ActiveX controls again, reboot and reinstall. GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download

  29. Troubleshooting Tips Depending on your security setting on your browser, you may receive the “Install” pop-up repeatedly for each display (remember, you should receive it once for the first time you use each of the four display sinks. If you are receiving the pop-up repeatedly, click ‘select more options’ (see below). • First, Select More Options • Then, select ‘Always install software from “Group 1 Software” (shown above) • Click Install – this should be the last time you have to install it for that specific sink (remember each sink requires one download) GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download

  30. IE 8 Workaround • Sometimes on Internet Explorer 8, security settings for most of the components are disabled. Due to this WebLink would not download ActiveX controls and fails to load. • Workaround: • Open Internet Explorer 8. • On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab. • Select Internet zone out of the 4 zones in Security tab, and then click Custom level.... • The Security Settings - Internet Zone dialog box appears. • Click Reset... to set the default security settings for Internet zone. • All display sink plans now should display the results.
