  1. Plantae Taylor Walther, Tyla Van Tilburg, Stephanie Perrie, Sneh Patel

  2. Creatures in Plantae Kingdom: • Cell walls made of cellulose • Cannot transport materials/nutrients • Large central vacuole • Chloroplast, convert light energy into chemical energy

  3. Evolution: • Evolved from water plants • Both land and water plants… • Use chlorophyll • Store energy • Have cellulose in cell wall

  4. Phyla: • Bryophyta • Non-vascular • Enclosed reproductive system • Tissue • Lack Vascular tissue • Which circulates liquids • Gymnosperms • Vascular plants • Seeds are not visible

  5. Structure: • Plantae are Eukaryotic • Mostly multicellular

  6. Metabolism: • Autotrophs • Producers • Food and energy from light energy • Photosynthesis

  7. Reproduction: • Asexual reproduction • Grow rapidly • Offspring develop as growth on parent • Use roots and seeds for asexual reproduction

  8. Reproduction Cont. Ovule Pollen Flower Structure

  9. Heredity:

  10. Homeostasis: • Habitats • Gases and Nutrients • Nitrogen • Phosphorus • Potassium • Carbon dioxide • Water • Store water internally • Absorb water from ground/soil • Transports food and nutrients throughout the plant

  11. Special Conditions: • All plants generally need the same things… • Light • Air • Water • Nutrients • Room to grow • Proper temperature
