  2. The Zeppelin in the past • In the past the zeppelines were something very special. They were the most comfortabel means of transport. Their inventor was Ferdinand Graf von Zeppeline. Zeppeline were rigit airships. They were built from 1900 to 1940. Only one little nacelle was for passengers. It was often luxurious and well equipped. In the wartimes the zeppelines were used fightjourneys and enlightenmentjourneys. Their disatvantage was that they filled with hydrogen. Hydrogen is highly flammable. Helium is safer than waterstoff, but it is too expensive.

  3. The Hindenburg-the biggest airship ever • The „Hindenburg“ was the biggest zeppeline ever. The Hindenburg was built on the 19.03.1936 by the company „Luftschiffbau Friedrichshafen“ . Only in the year 1936 flew the Hindenburg 34 over the ozean. That was a distance from 300.000 kilometre, transport 2.800 passengers and 170.000 kg letters without an acident. The 3. Mai 1937 was the last flight and the day of the big On the way to Lakehurst were 61 crewmen and 36 passengers on board. By the landing happened the big catastrophe. Fire escaped and 35 died.

  4. Zeppelines to explore the atmosphere • The zeppeline Pegasos is used for measurments in the aarosole. It measure little air molekule. The aim from the procect wich ist sponsored by the Eu is, to improve the air quality. The project was splited in 4 differend projects. The main point is the european air quality. The second project is Das zweite Projekt umfasst hier insbesondere Beobachtungen der atmosphärischen Selbstreinigungskapazität und deren Wechselwirkung mit Aerosolbildung. On board are test chambers for experiments.

  5. Promoairships-the ending is comming • Today zeppelines are used for promoflights. Their atvantage: • Tey are seen on the sky big. • They can fly in nearly all areas. • It‘s cheaper. Zeppelines haven‘t got a big importence. They can‘t stick with the Boing 747-400 or the Airbus A 380.
