Mission Statement • The Peace Corps' mission has three simple goals: • 1.Helping the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women. • 2.Helping promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served. • 3.Helping promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.

  4. Peace Corps History • In 1961, President John F. Kennedy established the Peace Corps to promote world peace and friendship.

  5. Where/who do we help? • In 1961, the first Peace Corps Volunteers accepted assignments to serve in six countries. Since then, nearly 210,000+ men and women have served in 139 countries. • Some of these Countries include, but are not limited too: • Afghanistan India Russia • Argentina Jordan South Africa • Chile Kenya South Korea • China Madagascar Togo • Fiji Poland Turkey
