  8. Easy Migration Path How we enable migration • Flexibility allows customers to operate as if nothing changed by simply installing a Director as a terminal server and router in the field to manage communications and optionally add automatic communications failover management. Poll Response SCADA Host

  9. Easy Migration Path How we enable migration • Flexibility allows customers to operate as if nothing changed by simply installing a Director as a terminal server and router in the field to manage communications and optionally add automatic communications failover management. SCADA Host Response Poll

  10. Easy Migration Path How we enable migration • Because the Director is protocol agnostic, site by site, customers are able to poll field equipment locally and convert the equipment protocols to MQTT. This allows users to transition from traditional “Round Robin” polling to a publish/subscribe middleware topology, further reducing bandwidth consumption and data latency (typically by 85%) while gaining greater reliability and quality of data. AB DF1 SCADA Host Publish Modbus MQTT Publish Middleware Failover Path FisherROC

  11. Easy Migration Path How we enable migration • By adding messaging middleware, other departments/systems can use field data for multiple applications such as inventory, custody transfer, tank information, regulatory reporting systems, SCADA system training, etc… EFM ERP Poll Publish Broker Publish Failover Path SCADA Host Response

  12. Easy Migration Path How we enable migration • Since customers reduce their bandwidth usage, they can begin adding more useful operational data from their field equipment and also add security with encryption and authentication from the field and use the middleware as the “DMZ” before the data enters the enterprise. EFM ERP Encryption Authentication Broker SCADA Host Failover Path DMZ

  13. Easy Migration Path How we enable migration • Middleware also allows users to upgrade/migrate their host systems using live data while operating legacy systems in parallel. New/Upgrade SCADA Legacy SCADA Broker Failover Path SCADA Training
