  4. Do’s and Don’ts of Directing • DO make actors feel at home • DON’T be a doormat • DO learn to behave in confidence • DON’T be afraid to say, “I don’t know, let’s figure it out.” • DO use active verbs • DON’T intellectualize • DO encourage writers to take out emotional stage directions

  5. Reflection • The reason that I chose to do this presentation on powerpoint is because for Drama, all I need is the slightest focus on the technology behind me and the majority of focus on what I’m saying. This linear format works perfect for what I need it to do and that is just support what I’m saying, not say what I’m saying. Other presentation formats require you to do a lot of explaining right on there but I want to make sure my kids are still listening to me. • A. Slide #1 clearly indicates all the necessary introductory needs: Title, Author, Reason for presenting B. Slide #3 just has pictures which will support my talking of which directors they are and what they have done for the industry. C. Slide #4 has a combination of picture and words. The picture makes it aesthetically beautiful. The words are the subtitles to what I will be talking about and explaining further in person.
