He was on several interviews and was asked numerous questions about his experience in Siberia A How long does winter last? In Siberia winter starts in September and lasts until May, almost nine months. In December and January the sun doesn’t rise and it’s always dark. C The location of Siberia is near the arctic and there are no mountains to stop the freezing wind from coming. Also, the sun is always low in the far north, so it’s cold all year round. _________________________________ D It snows very often, but it is not heavy. The snow cover lasts up to 280 days in the far north. E __________________________________ Definitely yes, especially Western Siberia which is practically melting. Fur is considered a luxury in the West, but it’s the only thing that is able to keep anyone warm in extremely cold weather. ______________________________ G very difficult? Sure. Your fingers freeze without gloves. Your nose hair freezes too. Some vehicle car tyres burst from freezing which is scary! Sometimes children have lessons on TV because they can’t go to school from the cold. H ____________________________________ They are used to it, they don’t mind it really. It gives them a chance to do a lot of wintery outdoor sports, like ice-skating which is considered number one in Russia next to skiing, ice-hockey and reindeer racing. Swimming in rivers and lakes in the sub-zero temperatures is one of people’s favourites. And what’s life like? Is it J Well, to be truthful, I love it! At home, Liverpool is usually cloudy and mild in winter, which I don’t like very much. It’s rarely fine weather, you know, not raining.
