  1. “Council Rock to Perform at White House Holiday Event”

  2. Move over, Beyonce. You won’t be the only one entertaining for the White House. On December 22, the Council Rock South Orchestra and the Council Rock South Vocal Ensemble will be performing at one of seven holiday “Open Houses” at the White House. The invitation is a distinct honor and brings national recognition to Council. On December 22, the student musicians will provide the entertainment as invited lawmakers, dignitaries, staff, friends, media, and political heavyweights eat, drink, and be merry. More than 50 Council Rock musicians will have the honor of performing. “Performing at the White House will be one of the greatest honors that me or my students will ever have,” says Council Rock Music Teacher and Vocal Director Corey Axler. “I hope the music we will be making will persuade the Obama family to come downstairs and be brought into the holiday spirit!”

  3. In Other News Baseball legend Barry Bonds is scheduled to be sentenced Friday for his obstruction of justice conviction. The hearing at 11 a.m. (2 p.m. ET) will take place in a San Francisco federal courtroom less than two miles from the ballpark where Bonds broke Hank Aaron's major league home run record in August 2007. Tim Tebow has quickly become a superstar in the world of football. But who are the stars that he likes to watch? The Denver Broncos quarterback reveals some of his favorite entertainers in a new interview with the New York Post. His favorite actor? Will Smith. His favorite actress? Jennifer Aniston. His favorite band? Well, maybe that one's a little more complicated. In the interview, Tebow says it's country's RascallFlatts. But he seems to be a pretty big U2 fan as well. Former Penn State star quarterback turned star witness Mike McQueary is expected to testify Friday in a key hearing for two university officials charged with lying after McQueary had described an alleged sexual assault he witnessed in a locker room.
