  8. Financial AidHow to apply for financial aid • Apply for a Federal Student Aid Pin . (if you do not already have one) • Complete the FAFSA as early as possible each year after January 1.  The priority filing deadline for students attending Purdue University Calumet is March 10 prior to the academic year for which you are seeking financial assistance (i.e. March 10, 2010 for 2010-2011, March 10, 2011 for 2011-2012). • Select Purdue University Calumet to receive your FAFSA information. • School Code: 001827 • Use completed federal tax information. • Monitor your PUC STUDENT e-mail accountfor correspondence from the Office of Financial Aid and Student Accounts. • Monitor PCSTAR for messages and information from the Office of Financial Aid and Student Accounts.

Financial AidHow to monitor the status of your financial aid • After you sign your online FAFSA application with your PIN, it can take up to seven business days for Purdue Calumet to review your FAFSA and notify you of your financial aid status. To view the status of your application, log into PCSTAR. Financial aid awards will not be processed until you have registered for classes. • To access your Financial Aid information: • On the PCSTAR Main Menu, click on Student Services & Financial Aid • On the Student Services & Financial Aid Menu, click on Financial Aid. • On the Financial Aid Menu, click on Overall Status of Financial Aid. • Select the 2010-11 aid year. • The Student Requirements tab displays documents or information required from you. • The Requirement Messages tab displays important messages to you from the Office of Financial Aid. • Select the Holds tab to view any Financial Aid holds currently existing on your account. • Select the Academic Progress tab to review your current status. If your status is Probationary you are at risk of losing your aid eligibility. If your status is "ineligible", you are currently not eligible to receive financial aid.

Financial AidWhat types of aid are available? • Federal Direct Subsidized Stafford Loan:  For students with financial need based on the results of your FAFSA.  Recipients must be enrolled at least half-time.  Recipients are not charged interest while in school at least half-time and during grace periods and deferment periods.  If this is your first Direct Loan, you may electronically complete your Master Promissory Note (eMPN) and your loan entrance counseling at https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action. • Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan:  You are not required to demonstrate financial need to receive this loan.  Interest begins to accrue (accumulate) with the first loan disbursement.  Recipients must be enrolled at least half-time.  If this is your first Direct Loan, you may electronically complete your Master Promissory Note (eMPN) and your loan entrance counseling at https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action. • Federal Direct Graduate Plus Loan:  This loan requires an application that may be completed at www.studentloans.gov. You are not required to demonstrate financial need to receive this loan. Interest begins to accrue (accumulate) with the first loan disbursement. Recipients must be enrolled at least half-time.  If this is your first Direct Loan, you may electronically complete your Master Promissory Note (eMPN) and your loan entrance counseling at https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action.

Financial AidHow does enrollment affect eligibility? • You must be enrolled a minimum of 4 credit hours (half time) between all five week courses in a semester to receive Direct Stafford Loans or Graduate Plus Loans.   If your enrollment changes after your financial aid has disbursed, your awards will be reviewed and you may be required to return funds to the university.

  13. myPUC • Student Log-in – myPUC • Your student log-in is also known as your career account, so if you are asked for this information, it is the same as your log in. • Access information is printed on your schedule, or you can contact your faculty advisor. • Help with passwords the log in for myPUC is available on the myPUC login page.

Student e-mail / gmail.com • Student email – gmail@purduecal • Once you have submitted your application for graduate school, you may receive emails through the email address you submitted with your application to Graduate School. • When you are admitted, you will receive all official University communications through your student email account (name@purduecal.edu).

  16. Payment • Payment and Deadline Information • It is important that you make your payment on or before the Friday before the start of class in order to avoid being dropped from the class. Periodic reminders will be sent to you regarding payment deadlines. Also, additional payment, refund and deadline information can be found on the web site www.stateu.com/purduecal by referencing the “Student Services FAQS” tab. • Account Information • All other questions regarding your course charges, invoices and payment due dates should be directed to: • Kendra Bates -bates@purduecal.edu • Payment Submission • If you would like to pay your tuition and fees using Web Check, Visa, Master Card or Discover using our On-line payment system option, you may select the PC Star icon using the same site mentioned above and select the appropriate Enrollment Services PC Star tab.  We ask that you please pay the exact amount due as shown.  • Note:  If you are enrolled in more than one Education Online course during a specific term, please be aware that the system will bring up the full amount due for all courses for which you are registered.  Once you enter your credit card or check information, you can then put in the amount you wish to pay should you decide to pay for the most recent online course.  • If you experience problems trying to pay your tuition, please reference the Customer Service Center Tab (same site).
