SuccessMaker provides a digitally driven Reading & Math learning experiences that is singularly focused on the needs of each individual student for instruction that is truly and automatically differentiated with: • Reading that integrates social studies, science, and interdisciplinary themes • Mathematics content that combines instruction in fundamental skills with development of higher-order thinking strategies Purpose of SuccessMaker

A completely customized learning path built around the program’s ongoing, real-time analysis of each learners actual performance • On-demand intervention, including scaffolded feedback • Step-by-step tutorials • Powerful data management to monitor student progress Purpose of Success Maker Con’t

The purpose of this program is to increase students ability in Math and Language Arts. • An increase in test scores among students has been proven to be effective when using this program. • The purpose is to also individualize each content area to meet the individual needs of all learners.   5. * This program can be used from ages 5-13 (Grades Kindergarten-8th grade) • *Time recommended for each grade level will vary • *Each school will arrange a schedule to ensure equitable time for each teacher in Math & Language Arts Age & Grade Appropriate

  6. 3 Computer labs per school with 30 computers for each grade level • Software will be accessed through an online program (no need to download additional software) • Java 7.0 will need to be installed on all computers Equipment & Software Required

  7. * Each school will have a technology support personnel available to them at any time • Title I monies will help support the funding for new hires • * there will also be a toll free tech support phone number to call at any time • *Emergency- Each grade will have one tech support teacher that has been trained on the program Technical Support

  9. Each computer lab will cost around $30,000 • (3 labs X $30,000=$90,000 per school) • Software license (yearly cost= $100,000 plus) for grade K-8 • Training Cost for Math and Language Arts grades K-8 ($25,000) Cost of Equipment, Software & Training

Title I is the largest source of federal education funding, providing over $14 billion to schools with high numbers or percentages of children living in poverty. • All of our schools K-8 are considered Title I schools • As long as the funds are used to help students meet state academic standards in reading and math Funding for software program-TITLE I

  11. Extra teachers • Intervention programs • Technology-This would help provide computer labs • Professional Development-This would provide teachers with the appropriate training to implement the program • Supplemental Materials Other expenses provided with Title I money

SuccessMaker is designed is meet the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards • Teachers would be able to use this program as a supplement to their teaching. • Each student will have their own individualized program, and be able to get extra practice in the areas they are weak in. Meeting the Content Standards for Students

Success Maker requires students to use higher-order thinking skills to work out their problems. • This program is also research-based and learner-centered. • Success Maker also promotes listening, speaking, and writing skills for students. • Students can set a goal for Math & Language Arts. • The teacher can assist students in setting their goals to ensure goals are attainable.   14. Students will all begin the program by taking a diagnostic test. This will place the students on the appropriate level in each content area. • Each students’ program will be tailored to meet the needs of each individual • As students progress in the program their level of content will be based on how well they score each day Differentiating Instruction with Success Maker

  15. Teachers can send home progress reports as often as they would like. This will tell the parents, teachers, or administrators what areas the students are lacking in. • Teachers will be able to provide individual instruction to the students that need the most help Differentiating Instruction with Success Maker

  17. Studies have shown that schools using SuccessMaker have had an increase in test scores. • Schools have shown the number of students to exceed has increased, as well as the number of students that passed the test. Effectiveness of Success Maker

  18. Pre-Planning- Teachers will be trained for two days during the week of pre-planning • Teachers will start using the program during the second week of school • Additional training will be provided throughout the school year Plan for Implementing the Program

  19. Language Arts Teachers will take their students to the computer lab each class period for 15 min every day • Math Teachers will take their students to the appropriate computer lab each class period for 20 min each day Plan for Implementing the Program

  20. I feel that this program would be very beneficial to our students and teachers. Its not often that every student can get individualized help each day. This program assist students in understanding what they are missing and how to figure it out. It builds skills and knowledge for every learner no matter what their ability level may be. Therefore, the program is tailored to each student from grades kindergarten to eighth grade. Reflection

  21. I also learned that this program has been proven to increase students test scores in Math and Language Arts. Students also enjoy working on computers and not always doing paper/pencil work at their desk. • By taking part in this assignment was was able to gave more knowledge on all of the virtual software that is available to enhance students learning.
