DecemberNews! • Some of the things students have been learning are as follows: • Science: Scientific Method • Math: We are focusing on Geometry, in particular: • 2-dimensional shapes • points, lines, line segments, perpendicular, intersecting and parallel lines • angles • symmetry & congruency • perimeter & area • SPECIAL NOTE: Please work with your child on multiplication facts! • Social Studies-Social Sciences • Reading: We are finishing Akiak. The strategy focus is found on the first page of each new story. This selection strategy is summarizing, or retelling in your own words. We are also focusing on story elements, as these are the key points used to summarize. Students need to study vocabulary words and be ready for comprehension test. • Spelling: This week’s focus: short and long “a” and “e” sounds Back to menu!
