New Vision Statement Paddle Canada educates and inspires recreational paddlers of all disciplines, abilities, and ages.  We promote public paddling safety awareness and provide paddle skill development through our internationally recognized programs and respected partnerships with complementary organizations.  Paddle Canada constantly strives to meet the changing needs of the paddling community by improving existing safety and skill programs, resources, and growing our national instructor base, to encompass all regions and paddling disciplines.   3. Draft Mission Statement To promote all forms of recreational paddling emphasizing safety & instruction, to Canadians of diverse abilities, culture and ages and to thus deepen our collective appreciation of our land and paddling heritage. Paddle Canada’s Float Plan for Success 2013-2016

Paddle Canada values the following as part of its activities: Educational ProgramsWe train our instructors to certify people in the knowledge & skills of safe and enjoyable canoeing, kayaking and SUP. Environmental AwarenessWe help develop a love and respect for our natural resources. SafetyWe promote and teach the safe use of canoes, kayaks and SUP. Scouts Canada: - Partner to support increased use of PC programs by their members and leaders Some Strategies To Address Priorities & Goals in Year 1 (2013) Paddle Canada Funded Instructor Development and Recerts - Targeting regions in need along with youth organizations such as summer camps Instructor Resource Manuals - Development & refinement of all program manuals & teaching tools - Start French translation of program manuals (2013-2016) Paddle Canada’s Float Plan for Success 2013

Create and implement a communication plan with measurable results Increase opportunities to belong to and support Paddle Canada (with a realistic but ambitious increase in membership) Increase the number of youth participating in Paddle Canada programs Increase the number of existing organized youth paddling programs that are utilizing Paddle Canada programs.
