  1. Thanks for your hard work the first week back!!!!!Please go ahead and get out paper and pencil – no calculators – for today’s group activities

  2. Complete as a group: You have < 10 mins. Translate the following expressions using the “hot and cold cubes” model. State in words the overall temperature change. • Three cold cubes were added, and then five hot cubes were added • Four bunches of three hot cubes were removed. • Ten hot cubes were added, and then two cold cubes were removed • Six bunches of eight cold cubes were removed.

  5. Pre-Assessment: We will take a pre-assessment on operations with fractions and decimals. No calculators Do your best!

  6. Four Fours and Operations Problem Use four 4s and the symbols +, ×, -, ÷, and ( ) to give expressions for the whole numbers from 0 through 9: for example 5=(4×4+4)÷4. You may use the symbols more than once in your expressions. After completing the assignment on your own paper – to be turned in, present group solutions on chart paper.
