The protist kingdom is the most diverse kingdom. • Some protists are single celled, while others are multicellular. • Some protists are heterotrophs (they must obtain preformed nutrients from the environment), while others are autotrophs (they are able to make food through photosynthesis). • Some protists are sessile (organisms that usually remain in one place), while others are motile (organisms that have the ability to freely move from place to place.

  3. Protists Kingdom • Some protists are remarkably plant like, others share fungi characteristics, and others are similar to animals. • The protist kingdom includes algae, slime molds, and protozoa. • All protists are eukarotes.
