Leadership Opportunities 2013-2014 Senior DECA
President • • Face of BHS DECA • • Oversee the direction of the club • • Run the club officer meetings • • Prepare the agendas for club and officer meetings • • Work to build relationships and recognition for DECA • • Support other officers • • Keep officers accountable for responsibilities • • Find new opportunities for DECA and its members
VP Professional Development • • Stand beside the president for social events and building relationships • • Planning and selecting upcoming guest speakers • • Help organize meetings • • Work with President to build relationships and recognition for DECA • • Create the PPT for the meetings • • Work with and assist the DECA President • • Help all other DECA Officers with their responsibilities
VP of Community Service & Event Planning • • Work with Membership Officer for social events and membership recruitment • • Assisting the Vice President with arranging speakers and club events • • Take pictures at club functions. • • Coordinate all community service projects • • Find new opportunities for community service projects for DECA and its members
VP of Public Relations • • Poster boards, flyers and other promotional, and press releases for big events • • Create Awareness of program via press releases • • Design and create advertisements for DECA • • In charge of inter-officer/chapter communication • • Take notes at the officer meetings and post the notes for all officers. • • Send out action list emails/memos for all of the officers each week. • • Thank you notes and gifts for speakers
VP of Member Relations • • Work with the President and Vice President to assist with DECA leadership and the direction of DECA . • • Design and implement all membership recruitment activities with help of event planning officer. • • Schedule and plan DECA appearances at career fairs, freshmen orientations, or other events • • Work closely with the PR officer to strategize and execute effective advertising campaigns • • Design and create advertisements for BHS DECA and distribute them throughout campus • • Arrange flyers, posters, and press releases • • The liaison between the BHS's DECA chapter, State DECA and • National Collegiate DECA organization to increase membership • • Work on creating an alumni database and create an alumni program.
VP of Finance • • Collect dues/all payments from all membership and recruitment officer • • Find new opportunities and coordinate DECA fundraisers with assistance from event planning officer • • Deposit money with the advisor • • Keep records of all dues paying members • • Submit expense requests • • Create club budgets
School Store Management Team General Manager Reports directly to advisor Makes final decisions on how store should be run Develops polices and communicates the policies to other managers and employees Support other managers Keep other managers accountable for responsibilities Find new opportunities for the store
School Store Management Team Operations Manager • Responsible for scheduling the employees and • Managing and keeping POS system up to date • Inventory control and maintenance • Scheduling and overseeing training of employees
School Store Management Team Merchandise Manager • Responsible for the merchandise mix offered in the store • Determine what trends will be used to influence purchasing decisions • Fill out requisitions for purchases
School Store Management Team Sales Promotion Manager • Responsible for developing and implementing sales promotions within the store • Work closely with merchandise manager to be aware of new products • Work closely with TV studio to develop commercials for store and products • Design and distribute all promotional materials for store.
