Importance of Lesson(Dari) • Insert Dari • In some locations you may be responsible maintaining an inventory of pharmacy equipment. • As previously learned, the Tashkil will provide a list of equipment entitlements. • Equipment will eventually require preventative and/ or corrective maintenance at some point. This lesson will also teach you the process to request maintenance. AFAMS

Preventative Maintenance • The care and servicing by personnel for the purpose of maintaining equipment and facilities in satisfactory operating condition by providing for systematic inspection, detection, and correction of incipient failures either before they occur or before they develop into major defects. • Maintenance, including tests, measurements, adjustments, and parts replacement, performed specifically to prevent faults from occurring. • The primary goal of maintenance is to avoid or mitigate the consequences of failure of equipment. Corrective Maintenance • Corrective maintenance is a maintenance task performed to identify, isolate, and rectify a fault so that the failed equipment, machine, or system can be restored to an operational condition within the tolerances or limits established for in-service operations. • (e.g. replacing a broken engine in a car because the oil was not changed) • Insert Dari Wikipedia AFAMS
