  2. Tessellations: Creativity • When creating a Tessellation you have to use creativity in order to find a shape or image that tessellates.( Not all shapes tessellate)

Solving Equations: Critical Thinking & Problem Solving • Solving an equation or finding X takes a lot of problem solving and critical thinking. • Sometimes when solving equations you have to use trial and error or in other words problem solving because there is no other way to find X. • Critical thinking is a process that leads to skills that can be learned, mastered and used, A skill used to solve an equation.

  4. Interdisciplinary • Interdisciplinary is used all through algebra. In every problem, in every equation you have to use different techniques, skills and standards. • For Instance: The order of operations uses is used in almost every algebra problem. The order of operations is a great example of interdisciplinary because it shows several different branches of knowledge.

  5. Leadership • Leadership is used all through our Algebra 1 math class. When we work in groups you have to show leadership or when we make posters you have to show leadership. • Leadership is a quality needed all through life, in all situations not just in HGT
