  2. Leadership • I believe that every time we do group work in math class, it shows leadership. • Group work shows leadership because people are assigned roles that you have to take leadership of if you want to succeed. • For example, if I don’t take leadership for my part of the assignment, it will effect the rest of the group and mess everything up. • Without leadership in our group assignments, everyone would be confused and helpless .

  3. Creativity • I think that the “Counting to 1,000,000” project showed a lot of creativity. • It showed a lot of creativity because of how many ways there were to solve it and figure it out. • For example, I estimated the times it would have taken me to say different numbers up to a million and I added the times and multiplied it by a million to get the end result which was around 72 years for me. While other people just took 1,000,000 and put that straight in to years and hours and minutes.

  4. Critical Thinking • To me, doing the review on algebra displays lots of critical thinking. • This section shows critical thinking because you have to critically think to find out the answer to an equation that may have multiple variables or to estimate how much money you will need for a family trip. • One way that it requires critical thinking is that if you have a set of figures and you have to find the equation, you must find out whether its linear or exponential then find the slope or the growth factor/ rate. Or if you spend $60 on vacation plus the plane ticket, you can find the approximate cost for a certain day by y=60x+200.

  5. Problem Solving • Every time that we are asked on how to make a certain shape with constructions, we have to use problem solving. • We do this by using previous knowledge and connecting it to make a new blueprint to use. • An example of this is when we had to make square with a make shift compass and straight edge. My group concluded that squares had four 90 degree angles. We then thought what would make 90 degree angles then we thought of perpendicular bisectors. What we ended up doing was making four perpendicular bisectors consecutively with all equal length sides to make our square. And it worked!

  6. Interdisciplinary • I believe that our section on constructions also shows a lot of interdisciplinary traits. • Constructions show math and art seamlessly bound together by shapes and angles. • Most of the basic shapes that artists use can be made perfectly with just a compass and a straight edge. • Proofs are also a good example of interdisciplinary traits because of how math and Language Arts coincide. • You can also say the same with math and science about equations.
