Sources of Sound Pitch—determined by the lowest Fundamental frequency f= v/λ= v/2L
Sources of Sound Put your finger on the fret of a guitar and you shorten the string so the pitch increases since the λof the fundamental frequency is now shorter. Thicker, heavier more dense strings have a lower frequency
