  1. Motto: “United in diversity” (“In varietate cocordia” (Latin) PROJECT 'WE ARE THE CITIZENS OF ONE BIG WORLD' Sponsoring Teacher: Svitlana Dyka, Secondary School 31 Kirovohrad Ukraine

  2. Nowadays people say, “The world is getting smaller”. And it is really so! Why? Because we have got a chance to know more about the things which are going on in the world. We have also started to travel more. We are interested in the ways people live in different countries. We can also communicate with each other more often. This project is devoted to the countries of our LC as a part of this one big world. What do we have in common? In what things are we unique?

  3. WE ARE THE PEOPLES ON THE PLANET EARTH! I am a citizen, not of Athens, or Greece, but ofthe world."- Socrates (5th Century B.C.) We are from four different continents.

  4. We are of many colours. Some of us have got light skin and some of us have got dark. Our eyes may be blue, brown, grey or green. Our hair may be blond, brown, red or black. Some of us have got curly or wavy hair and some of us have got straight hair. Each of us looks special in some way. We have many different ways of life. But we are very much alike, too. We must all have food and water. We all want to be comfortable and happy. We all need love and friendship. We all love beautiful things. We are from different families, groups and countries. But each of us is also a member of one big family – the human family.

  5. UKRAINE IS BEAUTIFUL Ukraine is a unique country and its uniqueness is in its geographical position, its nature and, of course, its people, especially women. Ukrainian women areknown to be the most beautiful in the world.

  6. Belarus is the country with unique history and rich cultural heritage and beautiful nature.

  7. And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man."- John F. Kennedy Inaugural address, 1961 The things that are unique and distinctive about our country’s culture are our religions which are all branches of Christians, Jewish, catholic, Lutheran, and Baptists. Another unique and distinctive thing about our country’s culture is our race. The races we have are white\American, black\African American, Hispanics, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese, just to name a few.

  8. PORTUGAL We like to live in Santa Comba Dão!

  9. Canada is a very unique country, it is famous for its mixtures of different cultures and languages, also it is a very peaceful country. “Canada is a place with beavers, moose, and maple syrup, but we aren't all one culture. In our class alone, there are 20 or more countries are represented by the different people. We all have questions for each other about where we come from”. (From Taylor’s e-mail. )

  10. AMAZING PAKISTAN • FAITH • UNITY • DISCIPLINE • (emblem of Pakistan) Pakistan is a multilingual country with more than 60 languages being spoken, English as Official and Urdu as National

  11. MOROCCO Dear participantsI am back home now after a black three days in the history of my lovely city. I have never been in such moments I had in these last three days.I think you might got it in the news .What happened is that a minaret fell onto a crowded mosque during prayers Friday in my city, Meknes .I used to pray in that mosque when we were still living in the old part of the city. I still have many friends there , and sadly many of them died in this accident.. As Volunteers and rescue workers finished on Saturday morning their search operations among the ruble of the 18th-century minaret in Meknes, authorities said the total death toll stood at 41.The tragic incident, which occurred due to the heavy rains that weakened the historic minaret, left 75 injured, of whom 18 are still under medical supervision..For two days we were there to take that number of friends to the graveyard .And all my sympathy is for their families. We will be able to surpass our emotions after all what happened., and be able to tell you how lovely is our city. We will not speak more about how thoses people died , but we would like to tell you how they lived in The lovely city of Mekens. They will stay for ever with us.YoursZakaria Othmane J.H. EssadaMeknés, Morocco.

  12. Understand similarities and celebrate differences! The Global Village is not a dream; it is imperative if humankind is to survive. We are all equal, and we're so much the same. Knowledge is still our best weapon, so let's break down the fences and learn more about each other to make this place better for everyone. We are very much like bricks in awall, we each have our place, though it may seem a small one in so big a wall. But if one brick crumbles or slips out of place, it begins to throw an undue strain on others, cracks appear, and the wall totters.

  13. LET’S LIVE ON THE EARTH TOGETHER AS BROTHERS World Citizenship is not a replacement for national citizenship, but rather a new responsibility in this interdependent world to work together across national boundaries to secure our common fate. "The age of nations is past, the task before us now, if we are to survive is to shake off our ancient prejudices, and build the earth.“ Teilhard de Chardin We have flown the air like birds and swum the sea like fishes, but have yet to learn the simple act of walking the earth together as brothers." Martin Luther King Jr.
