Introduction • Why is employee development crucial to a company’s success? • It attracts and helps retain the best employees (Forte, 2011) • It helps build loyalty and loyalty increases productivity (Lipman, 2013) • Facilitates succession planning (Noe, 2013) • Increases employee engagement (Noe, 2013) • Develops employees interpersonal skills (Noe, 2013)

  4. Recommended Approaches and Techniques for my Current Employer • Assessment 360 Degree Feedback Systems • Job Experiences Temporary Assignments • Interpersonal Relationships Mentoring (Noe, 2013)

  5. Conclusion Many companies choose not to take an active and intentional role in developing their employees. It is these companies that are constantly addressing hiring issues, costs of compensation, low productivity and essentially are at the mercy of market forces. The difference is leadership and actively engaging each and every employee in a partnership to meets the needs of each employee as well as the business
